Entering a contest for a "dream trip"
How could I refuse. A dream trip sounds so lovely this time of year. You can enter your own photo too, but first you must vote for my photo by clicking on the pretty yellow star here:

A big Great Pyrenees in the Pyrénées with a great big snack. I'm not sure if this was a pickup or delivery. He was just cruising up the road on his own, on his way to the Col du Soulor from Ferrières, France. | |

Then upload your own photo to win your own dream trip (but it better not be in lieu of my own dream trip). Info here:

Conde Naste Travel Photo Contest - TODAY is the LAST DAY to enter. |
Of course they don't tell you what that "dream trip" entails, and we all know one man's dream is another man's nightmare. As long as I'm not stuck on a cruise ship somewhere, forced to pedal indoors at sea, I believe I can adapt. The rules explain that 25 finalists will be selected (on September 23rd) and those 25 travelers will describe their personal "dream trip". This could be the most interesting part of the contest, then more voting takes place until September 30th, when the lucky winner (who happens to be me, sorry to spoil the surprise) will be announced.
See
cntrvlr.com/FlorenceDreamTrip for the story of the 2012 winner's trip. Their dream was Florence, Italy. Gotta admit that was a good dream.
